Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and organized Logistics Coordinator Intern to support our supply chain and delivery operations at Kanemtrade. This internship offers hands-on experience in logistics and supply chain management within an ecommerce environment, with an opportunity to gain skills in vendor relations, inventory control, and fulfillment processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and enthusiastic about learning the intricacies of logistics in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Order Fulfillment and Management:
    • Assist in managing the order fulfillment process, coordinating with vendors, warehouse teams, and delivery partners to ensure timely and accurate order processing.
  2. Carrier and Delivery Management:
    • Support relationships with carriers (e.g., GIG Logistics, UPS) and aid in tracking shipments and delivery schedules.
  3. Inventory and Stock Control:
    • Monitor inventory levels, communicate needs to suppliers, and help prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  4. Shipping and Returns Management:
    • Contribute to developing efficient shipping policies, and assist with returns and exchanges to support customer satisfaction.
  5. Logistics Performance Monitoring:
    • Track and help analyze logistics performance metrics such as delivery times, costs, and accuracy.
  6. Vendor Coordination:
    • Coordinate with vendors, ensuring they adhere to shipping guidelines and timelines, and handle any inquiries or minor issues.
  7. Cost Optimization:
    • Learn to identify cost-saving opportunities and assist in optimizing packaging, routes, and carrier selection.
  8. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Help ensure compliance with shipping regulations and maintain accurate records of shipping documents and invoices.
  9. Customer Communication:
    • Support customer service by providing order status updates and addressing basic inquiries related to shipping and delivery.
  10. Logistics Software and Tools Management:
    • Gain experience using logistics software to track shipments and manage inventory, collaborating with IT to explore software improvements.
  11. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other teams, including product management and customer service, to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  12. Emergency and Contingency Planning:
    • Assist in developing plans for logistical issues such as shipping delays, helping minimize disruptions to customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with logistics software or a willingness to learn.
  • Interest in learning about inventory management, vendor relationships, and supply chain optimization.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic startup environment.
